Four Seasons Hotel London at Canary Wharf, The Hotel Where Art Lives

Hotel hosts the final in the series of art collaborations with Modern ArtBuyer, showcasing artwork by Julia Wilson

London at Canary Wharf, England – 2012-11-21 — /travelprnews.com/ — Thursday, November 22, 2012 will see the final in the series of art installations with Modern ArtBuyer during Art & Music Thursdays at Four Seasons Hotel London at Canary Wharf. Hotel guests will be bowled over by the newest artwork of contemporary British artist Julia Wilson, Julia’s inspiring paintings are her response to the natural landscape, in particular the wild, expansive scenery of North Wales and the Cornish coasts and estuaries. Her bold use of colour infuses her work with great energy and will fuel Hotel guests and visitors’ senses.

As east London’s premier art hotel, and one of its top spots for viewing work by many emerging artists, Four Seasons Hotel London at Canary Wharf is a haven for art lovers and creatives alike. The Hotel defines east London’s vibrant and buzzing persona; being just on the doorstep of the city’s most innovative district, which has been at the forefront of a unique creative zeitgeist.

Subsequently, the Hotel has a little something for every traveller looking for an alternative view of London. Achieving a balance between the urban ambiance and contemporary setting, the Hotel’s atmosphere will be enhanced by Julia’s dynamic paintings for one month, while the interior acts as an elegant urban backdrop.

To mark the occasion, each guest will receive a complimentary Pop n Lock berry daiquiri cocktail. The new whimsical creation from the Hotel’s gifted mixologists has been created with dark berries and playful popping candy to complement the bold colours and spontaneity of the artwork. Guests will also enjoy canapés and live voice and piano jazz duo lead by Rachel Bennett, a London-based singer songwriter, creating a sense of tranquility in the Hotel’s ultra-modern three-storey lobby.

“The paintings are a reaction to my surroundings, a spontaneous re-working of memory and history, things seen, past and present. The starting point may be an outlook from my studio window, an interior space, or a familiar estuary landscape. The works are not abstract, in the formal sense, but are drawn from a visual experience,” explains Julia.

The event will go from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and entrance is complimentary, but tables should be booked in advance to avoid disappointment. Contact caw.quadrato@fourseasons.com or 020 7510 1858 for reservations.
