Florida’s largest intrastate airline Silver Airways now provides air service link between Charleston, South Carolina and Central Florida

Fort Lauderdale, Fla., 2015-3-23 — /Travel PR News/ — Silver Airways, Florida’s largest intrastate airline, is now providing a convenient air service link between Charleston, South Carolina and Central Florida.  The airline today started daily nonstop service from Charleston International Airport (CHS) to Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Tampa International Airport (TPA).

In addition to the nonstop service, the new flights from Charleston are designed to offer travelers easy one-stop service to Fort Lauderdale, including at least one direct flight in each direction on weekdays.

“As we continue our commitment to offering travelers with convenient flights to and from our Florida hubs, we are happy to be providing business and leisure travelers with this important link between South Carolina and our Florida cities,” said Silver Airways Vice President of Airports and Customer Service Brian McCormick.

“It is no secret that our community needed greater access to the Sunshine State of Florida and now the sun shines a little brighter on Charleston,” said Paul G. Campbell, Jr., director of airports, Charleston County Aviation Authority.  “Silver Airways is joining us at a great time. CHS welcomed 3.1 million passengers in 2014, and we are looking forward to even more this year. Our airport renovation will finish at the end of 2015, creating a great tenant and passenger experience at CHS. We look forward to future growth and development of Charleston International Airport with Silver as one of our partners.”

“You don’t have to look very hard to see that change is in the air,” said Andy Savage, chairman, Charleston Aviation Authority Board.  “Even with the construction going on all around us, the Charleston County Aviation Authority continues to make airline recruitment, retention and expansion a top priority. Air service development, including the addition of Silver Airways, is a critically important part of our mission and an important part of the community’s economic development efforts.”

As the airline of choice for Florida and the Bahamas, Silver offers more routes within Florida and between Florida and the Bahamas than any other airline.  In fact, the airline provides more than 50 percent of Florida’s intrastate flights.

In addition, Silver Airways’ connections offer customers the ease and convenience of seamless booking, ticketing and baggage handling with connections to dozens of destinations outside of Florida that are available via the airline’s interline ticketing partnerships with American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, United, US Airways, Bahamasair, Hahn Air and All Nippon Airways.  Members of United’s MileagePlus® and JetBlue’s TrueBlue customer loyalty programs can also earn frequent flyer awards for travel throughout Silver’s Florida network.
