Elbow Beach, Bermuda Offers “Dive In” Travel Package

Hong Kong, 2013-02-08 — /travelprnews.com/ — If the world has a warm-water shipwreck capital, it has to be Bermuda. The shallow coral reefs that encircle this tiny island are studded with more than 500 shipwrecks dating from the 1500s to the 1990s, creating a fascinating underwater history. Elbow Beach, Bermuda is delighted to offer guests an opportunity to experience Bermuda’s incredible underwater beauty.

The Dive In package includes four nights accommodation and two days of scuba diving, tailored for either the novice diver or the certified diver. PADI certified divers will experience a variety of reef and wreck sites during two days of diving. Subject to weather conditions, Blue Water Divers, Elbow Beach’s own dive centre, will select a different reef and wreck site for each day of the package so that experienced divers will get the most of their Bermuda Diving adventure. Sites will be chosen based on the diver’s interests and experience level.

Non-certified divers can partake in a Resort Dive Lesson and Dive with Blue Water Divers team of instructors. This beginner dive course is designed to teach guests the basics so that they can experience diving for the first time in a safe and comfortable manner. The course begins on a boat trip out to the dive site, where an instructor will run through basic theory, hand signals, equipment and diving skills. Guests will then be accompanied by a certified instructor on a guided dive in shallow water followed by a dive at the double-wreck site of the Constellation and Montana, two ships with fascinating histories. In particular, the Constellation, which was one of the key shipwrecks in Peter Benchley’s book, THE DEEP and later in the movie of the same name. On day two, novice divers will get a chance to dive again at a coral reef site and put into practice the skills they acquired on their first day.

The package also includes four nights accommodation in a Premier Room and daily continental breakfast to-go. Guests can then enjoy breakfast on the boat en route to the dive sites. Additionally, guests will receive a certificate for completion of the dives to take home as a souvenir. Each certificate provides the shipwreck’s name, a brief history and pre-sinking silhouette on parchment-style paper. The Dive In package is valid from 3 March to 15 May 2013 and includes:

  • Four nights accommodation in a Premier Room
  • Daily continental breakfast to-go for two persons
