Eighth annual Hendricks County Airport open house is set for Saturday, July 21 at 10 a.m.

INDIANAPOLIS, 2012-07-23 — /travelprnews.com/ — Hendricks County Airport-Gordon Graham Field is gearing up for its annual open house. Featuring a variety of entertaining activities, the free event is popular among aviation enthusiasts and families alike.

The open house will feature tours of the airport, airplane rides, and flight lessons. Pilots will be on hand to answer questions about general aviation, flight training, and pilot licensing. Freshly grilled hot dogs and soft drinks will be offered throughout the program.

Experimental aircraft and brand-new Cessnas will be on display, and visitors will be offered the opportunity to take to the skies themselves. Discovery Flights, mini-lessons allowing someone to fly basic maneuvers or simply enjoy some spectacular sightseeing, will be available for the reduced rate of $90. Attendees will also be able to enter a chance for free flights and need not be present at the drawing to win.

Activities will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will proceed rain or shine, although inclement weather could prevent flight operations.

The open house is sponsored by Hendricks County Aviation. The center offers both flight training and aircraft rentals using the 2005 Cessna 172, which is equipped with the Garmin G1000 glass panel and is the safest, most modern training aircraft on the market today. Hendricks County Aviation also offers flight gift certificates, suitable not just for prospective pilots but anyone who appreciates the gift of flight.

Hendricks County Airport-Gordon Graham Field is located at 2749 Gordon Graham Blvd., just south of U.S. 36 between Avon and Danville on County Road 300 East.
