Zleep Hotel Hamburg Altonaer Volkspark to open in 2022

Frankfurt am Main, Germany, 2020-Jan-23 — /Travel PR News/ — The first Zleep hotel in Hamburg is set to launch in 2022 as Deutsche Hospitality rolls out its recently acquired Danish brand in Germany for the first time. Having taken over the Scandinavian hotel concept at the beginning of 2019, the group has now embarked on a robust path of expansion by announcing new openings in Madrid and Hamburg. These are scheduled for 2021 and 2022 respectively. Farnhornstieg 8 GmbH, a joint venture between SORAVIA and Kiskan Kaufmann Architekten, will act as project developer for the new build in Hamburg.

The Zleep Hotel Hamburg Altonaer Volkspark will offer 204 guest rooms together with a lobby, reception area and a Nordic-style breakfast and snack bar. Plenty of car parking spaces and bicycle stands will also be available. Its location to the North of Altona Railway Station within the direct vicinity of the Barclaycard Arena and the Volkspark Stadium will provide excellent links with public transport and with the road network in the Hamburg metropolitan area. Major companies such as Montblanc and Oticon are situated close by. The hotel will also be near the DESY Research Centre, which will form the hub of a new Science City which is currently being planned.

“Our entire brand portfolio will be represented in Germany once the Zleep Hotel Hamburg Altonaer Volkspark opens in 2022,” said Thomas Willms, CEO, Deutsche Hospitality. “We will be able to offer our guests quality and service at an affordable price. Hamburg is a highly attractive metropolis where our brands Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts and IntercityHotel already have a presence. They will now be joined by Zleep Hotels.” Mr. Willms added: “We are very much looking forward to implementing this fabulous project together with our partners SORAVIA GmbH und Kiskan Kaufmann Architekten. It will deliver an outstanding option complete with Scandinavian flair for business and leisure travellers alike.”

Roland Paar, Head of Hotel Investment at SORAVIA, explained: “We are extraordinarily proud to be given the opportunity to implement the first Zleep hotel in Germany at such a promising location in conjunction with our project partner and the executing architects Kiskan Kaufmann. This cooperation agreement with Deutsche Hospitality enhances our portfolio by adding a further operator which enjoys worldwide prestige.” Andre Kiskan from Kiskan Kaufmann Architekten stated: “Existing plans to develop the Science City Quarter by 2040 will generate a high level of demand within the immediate environment. The expectation is that there will be a strong need for hotels that are able to offer the necessary quality.”

Peter Haaber, founder and CEO of the Zleep Hotels brand, also expressed his enthusiasm for the new location. “Zleep Hotels have achieved successful growth in Denmark and Sweden. Establishing them in this dynamic part of Hamburg is a great move. The brand has a young and committed team behind it and offers a superb match for the area.”

Zleep Hotel GmbH Managing Director Robert Boller, who is also responsible for growing the MAXX by Steigenberger brand, is in charge of the international expansion of Zleep Hotels.

Deutsche Hospitality currently has more than 30 further hotel openings in the pipeline. The emphasis is on both international and domestic locations.
