Deutsche Hospitality announces the opening of the 216-room IntercityHotel Wiesbaden

  • 216 rooms designed by Matteo Thun.
  • Deutsche Hospitality’s first hotel in the state capital of Hessen.

Frankfurt am Main, Germany, 2022-Jan-18 — /Travel PR News/ — Deutsche Hospitality’s new IntercityHotel in Wiesbaden opens for business on 17 January 2022. Located directly next to the city’s central railway station and just a short walk from the RheinMain CongressCenter, the 216-room hotel very much places the emphasis on comfort, design and sustainable mobility. Interiors are by the Italian architect Matteo Thun. The FreeCityTicket scheme, which is included in the cost of an overnight stay, offers free use of local public transport and will enable guests to explore the city’s leisure, cultural and shopping highlights in an environmentally friendly way.

The hotel is a new build containing a restaurant, a bistro lounge, a bar and a flexible conferencing suite and has been realised as part of a cooperation agreement entered into with the project developer GBI. The owner is Hausinvest, an open-ended real estate fund run by the Wiesbaden-based company Commerz Real, the property investment arm of Commerzbank. “Today’s opening represents a joint success,” said Deutsche Hospitality’s CEO Marcus Bernhardt. “We would like to thank our partners, GBI and Commerz Real, for their good collaboration, which has always taken place in a spirit of trust.”

Christian Kaschner, Managing Director of IntercityHotel GmbH, added: “We are delighted to be adding this highly attractive location to the growing IntercityHotel network. Wiesbaden is an important centre of business, a major spa and a congress destination. It has a real mix of companies which include world market leaders and is also home to the European and national headquarters of international firms in sectors such as the service industry, IT and the creative economy. The city’s cultural and restaurant scene, its spa facilities and parks and its proximity to the Rheingau region and the Taunus mountains range are just some of the many reasons to visit.”

The IntercityHotel Wiesbaden lies at the very heart of the Frankfurt Rhine Main metropolitan area. Germany’s largest airport is only 20 minutes away. “The whole team is looking forward to becoming part of the city from the very outset,” stated General Manager Sascha Wagner. “Our position right next to the station and the Lilien-Carré Shopping Centre means that we are a gateway to Wiesbaden for our guests and can offer a comfortable temporary abode. Both business and leisure travellers can have complete confidence in our Safe Travels concept, which ensures the highest hygiene standards at all times.”

The hotel is also showcasing an exhibition entitled “Elementa”. This forms part of a photographic art project called “Kunsträume” (“Art Rooms”), which came into being following the conclusion of a cooperation agreement with Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. The artists Karsten Kronas and Kirill Starodubskij present their own view of the city and use the significance of water to trace a picture of Wiesbaden which is only apparently realistic. Karsten Kronas was born in Wiesbaden, whereas Kirill Starodubskij is from Kiev.
