DUUUVAL Express brings first autonomous shopping experience to this NFL venue and will offer refreshments and freshly prepared hot food items
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., 2023-Sep-13 — /Travel PR News/ — Delaware North, a global hospitality and entertainment company, announced a new store with Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology and Amazon One. Designed to eliminate checkout lines, DUUUVAL Express will be located within the Daily’s Place area of the south end zone at the Jacksonville Jaguars’ EverBank Stadium.
Shopping at a location with Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology and Amazon One is designed to be an effortless experience. Guests simply enter by using their credit card or hovering their palm over an Amazon One device at the entry gate. The Just Walk Out technology detects what shoppers take from or return to the shelves and creates a virtual shopping session. Guests can grab what they need and leave the store without having to wait in line to checkout. The payment method used to enter the store will be charged only for the items they left the store with.
“Fans are most happy when they don’t miss a single touchdown, which is why the Jaguars always prioritize fan convenience on game day,” said Ryan Prep, Jaguars Vice President of Facility Operations. “Just Walk Out technology provides efficient and streamlined transactions and is the type of innovation we’re eager to evaluate as we look ahead to the Stadium of the Future. We hope fans will give it a try and share their feedback with us and our partners, Amazon and Delaware North.”
“We are thrilled to bring Just Walk Out technology and Amazon One to EverBank Stadium,” said Jon Jenkins, Vice President of Just Walk Out technology, AWS Applications. “With Just Walk Out and Amazon One, Jaguars fans will find a convenient way to purchase the items they need with a frictionless shopping experience so they can quickly get back to their seats and experience the thrill of the game.”
The DUUUVAL Express will offer a wide variety of grab-and-go items – including freshly prepared hot items such as cheesesteak, hot dogs, pizza, Tex-Mex fare and nachos – along with an assortment of chips, Frito-Lay snacks, Dippin’ Dots ice cream, beer and other packaged beverages.
“Our commitment to innovation pushes us to enhance service speed and convenience for our guests,” said Marcus Snead, general manager for Delaware North at EverBank Stadium. “Having seen the advantages of Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology and Amazon One at various professional sports venues in the U.S. and Australia, we’re thrilled to introduce this cutting-edge technology to Jacksonville.”
Just Walk Out technology is made possible by artificial intelligence like computer vision and deep learning techniques, including generative AI, to accurately determine who took what in any retail environment. Amazon built synthetic datasets to mimic millions of realistic shopping scenarios—including variations in store format, lighting conditions, and even crowds of shoppers—to ensure accuracy in any environment.
Amazon One is a palm-based biometric identity and payment service that uses artificial intelligence like computer vision and deep learning techniques, including generative AI—the models are trained with millions of diverse, photorealistic synthetic palm and vein images—to establish a person’s identity.
