CARIBBEAN AIRLINES TAKES CRICKET COACHING TO A NEW LEVEL

Port-of-Spain, 2012-07-20 — /travelprnews.com/ — The future of cricket locally and regionally got a serious boost recently, when Caribbean Airlines assisted a number of top local cricket coaches in attending the Cricket Australia Level Three Coaching Program in Florida.

The Coaching program, the first of its kind in this region, sees local coaches attaining a Level Three International Distinction and gaining valuable insight into the newest teaching methods to bring out the best in regional sporting talent.

Coach Rajindra Dhanraj reflected on the sessions which took place from June 29th to July 3rd 2012, “This will really be a boost for the game locally and in the region. We were exposed to the latest thinking on the game, even how a newer, more holistic teaching is carried out. It’s a return to what we could call “backyard cricket” in some ways where you intuitively develop your personal best way to play. Now we can guide the young players without rigidly forcing them to all play the same way. We can develop their best unique talent so we have a very diverse team, all skilled, but each with unexpected strengths and abilities.”

The Level Three distinction certifies a coach to work internationally. The course of study goes well beyond the days in Florida and will require assessment and future development of the coaches themselves.

Caribbean Airlines Chairman, Rabindra Moonan, “Cricket is still an amazing unifier of our Caribbean Region and Caribbean Airlines is its natural support mechanism toward development. We’re very proud to have so many local coaches attaining such a high distinction in the sport and even more proud to have played our role in making it happen.”
