Budapest Airport welcomes AnadoluJet’s services between Budapest and Istanbul

Budapest, Hungary, 2022-Jun-07 — /Travel PR News/ — Istanbul, a city that is both European and Asian, is a favorite with many travelers, with its unique culture and fascinating history. Tens of thousands of Hungarians travel from Budapest to the Turkish metropolis every year, and from June, they can do so with AnadoluJet flights as well. From the first month of summer, the Turkish Airlines subsidiary will fly three times a week between Budapest and Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen International Airport, with its 189-seater Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

From 2 June, a new airline will operate flights between the Hungarian capital and Istanbul. AnadoluJet, a regional airline owned by Turkish Airlines, will fly three times a week between Budapest and Istanbul, on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, offering the 2-hour trip with its modern, 189-seater Boeing 737-800 aircraft. A special feature of tickets purchased on AnadoluJet flights is that, although it is a low-cost carrier, meals are included in the price, and á la cart meals are also available.

The airline operates under the Turkish Airlines (TK) code and bookings can be made there as well, to a total of 48 international and 41 Turkish destinations. Flights are serviced by Turkish Airlines flight crew and pilots and maintenance is performed by Turkish Technic.

It is also worth noting that AnadoluJet offers connecting flights via Istanbul to Ankara, Antalya, Dalaman, Bodrum and Izmir within Türkiye and to international destinations such as Dubai, Tel Aviv, Tbilisi, Tehran and Baku.

Balázs Bogáts, head of airline development for Budapest Airport, commented: “Turkish destinations have always been available in Budapest Airport’s schedule, as tens of thousands of Hungarians have been traveling to Istanbul and other coastal destinations for years. It is always a great pleasure for us when we welcome a new airline to the portfolio at Budapest Airport, especially now, after the pandemic, as it also means that travel has picked up and airlines see potential in Budapest.” He added: “The number of destinations available from Budapest has reached the same level as before the pandemic, with new routes and flights expected to be launched later this summer.”

Şamil Karakaş, the senior vice president of AnadoluJet said: “Reflecting the historical and natural beauties of Central Europe on the banks of the river Danube, Budapest is one of the cities in Europe that is really worth exploring. We will work together to bring more tourists to this beautiful city, which has a unique atmosphere. With our Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen – Budapest flight started today, we have reached a total number of 50 airports abroad. I sincerely believe that at AnadoluJet, we will contribute to the development of tourism between Türkiye and Hungary, and this new route will enable more people from Türkiye to visit Budapest. We reached 80% load factor on the first flight with our 160 passengers.”
