- Budapest Airport opens new car park; adding another one thousand new parking spaces to existing car parks
Budapest, Hungary, 2017-Jul-06 — /Travel PR News/ — Budapest Airport’s latest car park development has been completed in less than two months, adding another one thousand new parking spaces to the existing car parks near Terminal 2. The airport now offers no less than 4700 parking spaces, in different categories.
One of the country’s largest continuous car parks was created at Terminal 2, after Budapest Airport completed the latest phase in the expansion of its long-stay car parks today. Holiday Parking now offers 2525 spaces for motorists, providing parking for several days or even several weeks, at favorable rates. The customary, enhanced security conditions are in place in the asphalted car park; for the entire duration of the summer holidays, lasting one or two weeks, parked vehicles are protected by a CCTV system, which also monitors entry and exit through the barriers.
The project of approximately 3 million EUR (nearly 1 billion HUF) is part of BUD 2020, Budapest Airport’s five-year development program, in the course of which 160 million EUR (about 50 billion HUF) will be spent on upgrading Ferenc Liszt International Airport. Within the framework of the parking investment, the Aeropark Aircraft Museum was relocated and significantly expanded, and another 150 meters of covered walkways was built, linking the existing sidewalks to Terminal 2.
This is the second time within a year that parking capacity was expanded with one thousand spaces, which is attributable to the dynamic increase in passenger traffic. According to Manel Moreno, head of commercial landside services, another reason for the popularity of airport parking is that Budapest Airport offers parking products in various different categories and prices, from just a few hundred forints per day to Business Parking, tailored to the needs of business travelers. The airport operator also offers attractive discounts and promotions in its online booking system.
Motorists currently have a choice of five different car parks, based on the length of their journey, the planned duration of their stay at the airport and the distance of the parking facility from the terminals. All in all, Terminal, Business, Holiday, Holiday Plus and Holiday Lite Parking offer nearly 4700 spaces. These are also accessible via the online booking system:
