Air France hosts special events at the boarding gates for flights to Brazil to celebrate Rio de Janeiro Carnival

Air France celebrates Carnival at Paris-Charles de Gaulle.

PARIS, 2015-2-12 — /Travel PR News/ — Carnival is the most popular national holiday in Brazil, in particular in Rio de Janeiro where the celebrations last for nine days from 13 to 21 February. Air France has also organized its own celebrations, with special events at the boarding gates for flights to Brazil on Wednesday morning. Passengers on flights AF444 to Rio de Janeiro and AF456 to Sao Paulo were treated to a special demonstration of the Samba. All the passengers were presented with a Brazilian “Fitinhas” band in Air France colours. Finally, Air France staff wished everyone a “Bom carnival” (Happy Carnival!) in Portuguese at the boarding gate and on board.

PERSONALIZED SERVICES FOR BRAZILIAN CUSTOMERS

This winter, Air France is offering up to 30 weekly flights to the Brazilian cities of Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.

At Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport, Air France ground staff speaking Portuguese are available to assist Brazilian customers with formalities on departure, arrival and when they have a connection.

On flights in and out of all Brazilian destinations served by Air France (Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia) the Company employs Portuguese-speaking cabin crew. Close to 50 Brazilian cabin crew have been recruited by the company and nearly 500 speak Portuguese.

On board, the announcements are made in Brazilian Portuguese on these routes. In addition, Air France offers its customers a selection of daily and weekly Brazilian newspapers and magazines. A choice of 200 to 300 CDs of various musical genres, including a selection of Latin American tracks is also available, enabling passengers to compile their own playlist. In each cabin, individual screens show up to 125 movies available in up to 9 different languages, including Portuguese and Spanish. In total, 600 hours of programs are available.
