
Air Canada Expands Winter Sun Network with New Routes and Increased Frequencies to Latin America
(IN SHORT) Air Canada announces a significant expansion of its Latin America network for the 2025-26 winter season, introducing new destinations and increasing frequencies. With more than 80,000 seats weekly, the airline aims to provide greater connectivity for both Canadian and international travelers, offering increased services to Rio de Janeiro, Cartagena, Guatemala City, and Guadalajara, among other destinations.
(PRESS RELEASE) MONTREAL, 2025-May-5 — /Travel PR News/ — Air Canada has announced an expansion of its winter sun schedule for the 2025-26 season, increasing seat capacity by 16% compared to the previous winter. The carrier will introduce new direct routes to Rio de Janeiro, Cartagena, Guatemala City, and Guadalajara, and enhance services with 13 new routes to destinations including Santiago, Pointe-à-Pitre, Fort-de-France, Nassau, Montego Bay, and Huatulco. In total, Air Canada will operate over 55 daily flights and offer more than 80,000 seats weekly to Latin America, becoming the leading Canadian carrier flying to the region.

New South America Routes:
Air Canada’s new services to South America include flights to Rio de Janeiro, Cartagena, and Guatemala City. The airline is also increasing frequency to Santiago, Chile, with new flights from Montreal. These new routes are expected to meet rising demand for both tourism and business travel in the region.
Air Canada’s Central America, Caribbean, and Mexico Routes:
The airline is also introducing 13 new routes to the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central America, including services from Montreal to Guatemala City, and Quebec City to Fort-de-France, Martinique. Additionally, flights from Ottawa and Halifax to Nassau and Montego Bay will further expand the airline’s Caribbean offerings. Air Canada will also enhance its service to popular vacation spots with increased frequencies to destinations such as Los Cabos, St. Maarten, and Punta Cana.
Additional Capacity:
Air Canada is also adding extra capacity on existing routes during peak periods. Notably, flights from Toronto to Los Cabos and Montego Bay will see added frequencies, with Toronto to Nassau increasing to up to 12 weekly flights during peak times. Montreal’s Punta Cana route will add a third daily flight, offering greater flexibility for travelers.
