Aeroflot provided over 700 children from different regions of Russia with medical care in 2014 under its charity program “A Heart With Two Wings”

Moscow, 2014-12-29 — /Travel PR News/ — Aeroflot is summing up the results of the charity program «A Heart With Two Wings» 2014. More than 700 children from different regions of Russia have received medical care during the outgoing year.

The program was launched in the year of Aeroflot 90th anniversary — in 2013 — in order to help children with rare diseases of the immune system, musculoskeletal system and gastrointestinal system living in all regions of Russia and to undergo treatment or to get medical consultations in Moscow in the leading center of children’s medicine — FGBU «Scientific Center of Children’s Health» (NCZD). Specialists of this center form lists of children who need transportation and Aeroflot provides tickets.

Another vital sphere of this charity program is transportation of medical teams to the farthest corners of the country for «fieldwork» and early diagnostics of serious illnesses. Thanks to this hundreds of children could be examined by the best pediatricians in Russia.

«Unfortunately a lot of rare childhood diseases could be diagnosed only in specialized centers in Moscow», — said Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Saveliev. «Not all parents could afford travelling to the capital, especially if they are living in the remote regions of the country. In this case Aeroflot extensive route network allows to make qualitative healthcare accessible. I’m happy to know that the company not only performs as a carrier only, but also has a direct relation to the improvement the children’s health».

In 2014 a step on the road to recovery was made by children from Buryatia, Far East, Eastern Siberia and other regions of Russia. Expert consultations were held in Ulan-Ude, Arkhangelsk, Severodvinsk, Magadan, Khabarovsk, Simferopol and Barnaul.

Additionally, during regional visits the representatives of Moscow Medical Center conducted lectures for colleagues from regional medical institutes.

Like in the last year «National Media Group» was the informational partner of the Program. Thanks to its activities a lot of people in our country could track this campaign online.
