A First Nations’ Railroad Blockade in Marysville Forces VIA Rail to Stop Trains on the Toronto-Montreal and Toronto-Ottawa routes

MONTREAL, 2013-01-07 — /travelprnews.com/ — A First Nations’ railroad blockade in Marysville, near Kingston, affects the transportation of passengers aboard VIA Rail trains between Toronto/Montreal and Toronto/Ottawa in both directions. There is no definitive timeline when the blockade will be lifted. Delays are to be expected.

VIA Rail’s foremost priority is to ensure that our customers reach their destinations as comfortably and safely as possible. Passengers with itineraries passing through the site of the blockade will be accommodated with bus transportation.

For customers wishing to cancel or change their date of travel at no additional charge, or who need any further information may do so by calling 1 888 VIA-RAIL (1 888 842-7245) or 1 800 268-9503 (hearing impaired) to speak with an agent.
