Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Announces Free 2025 Summer Events, Including First-Ever Drone Show and Arcade Discounts
(IN SHORT) The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk has unveiled its 2025 free summer entertainment lineup, featuring a drone show, the return of Free Movies on the Beach, half-price arcade mornings, and Evenings on the Colonnade with live entertainment. Starting in June 2025, families and visitors can enjoy exciting activities, music, and movie nights all summer long, with all events free to the public.

This year’s summer entertainment will include a first-ever drone show, the popular Free Movies on the Beach series, half-price arcade mornings, and live music, magicians, acrobats, and DJ dance parties as part of Evenings on the Colonnade.

The first-ever drone show will light up the sky on Saturday, May 17, at approximately 8:45 p.m. Viewers will be treated to a stunning visual display above Main Beach, with the best viewing area located on the Boardwalk between the Giant Dipper and Undertow roller coasters.
The Boardwalk is also bringing back the Free Movies on the Beach summer series, which begins Friday, June 13 and continues every Friday night through August 8 (excluding July 4). Guests can enjoy fan-favorite films such as The Lost Boys, Ghostbusters, Clueless, and The Goonies. Each movie night will feature a 15-minute intermission, with seating available on the beach on a first-come, first-served basis.
Evenings on the Colonnade will kick off on Monday, June 16 and run daily through August 7. The event will feature a mix of live music, magicians, acrobats, and a DJ dance party for guests to enjoy each evening.
Additionally, starting June 16, half-price arcade mornings will return, offering discounts on games at the Boardwalk’s Casino Arcade and Neptune’s Kingdom. These discounts will be available daily through August 8.
