Winnipeg Airports Authority Inc. Third Quarter Results

2012-10-29 — /travelprnews.com/ — “We are pleased to note the continued growth of passengers and revenues throughout the quarter.” said Barry Rempel, President & CEO of Winnipeg Airports Authority Inc. (WAA). “Critical to our revenue diversification strategies, the third quarter included the announcement of important airport campus developments, continuing our contribution to community by leveraging assets to create employment growth.”

Revenue was $22.2 million for the third quarter, compared to $21.2 million for the same period in 2011. Earnings before interest, depreciation and taxes were $12.4 million consistent with 2011’s third quarter.

Moody’s affirmed the A1 Stable credit rating of the corporation, reflecting WAA’s solid competitive positioning.

In reviewing the quarter, Barry Rempel also noted that, “While still in the ‘shakedown’ period for the terminal facilities included in the ongoing airport site redevelopment program, we are exceeding customer expectations. We continue to invest in the infrastructure required to meet service needs while providing jobs and increasing economic opportunity for our community.”

Important recognition of our focus on meeting stakeholder needs was also provided as WAA won the Travel Manitoba Service Excellence Award for the Goldwing Ambassador program, a 2012 City of Winnipeg Accessibility Award, and once again was chosen as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers 2013.

During the third quarter of 2012, WAA also announced a new Courtyard by Marriott on the airport campus and welcomed Metalsmiths Sterling to the air terminal retail program.
