VisitEngland and Cottageline partner to promote Countryside and Coastal Short Breaks

2013-02-04 — /travelprnews.com/ — VisitEngland, the national tourist board, and holiday cottage group Cottageline have today launched a joint marketing campaign to inspire British holidaymakers to take a self-catering break in England this year. The campaign will run throughout February, with print, digital and social media activity all aimed at encouraging consumers to visit www.cottageline.co.uk/visitengland, and ‘Book with a local’.

Cottageline, an association of independent cottage holiday agencies, has a total of 3,700 properties in a variety of coastal and countryside locations across England.  The company focuses on offering a high quality, personalised service, providing customers with a wealth of local knowledge – from tips on the best pubs to recommendations for country walks.

Tim Holt, VisitEngland’s Head of Marketing said:
“The self-catering sector is incredibly important to domestic tourism – *5.6 million overnight domestic holidays were taken in a rented property last year generating £1.8 billion in tourism spend. This campaign aims to boost this key market by inspiring UK residents to book a cottage break in England – with beautiful properties across the country, personalised customer service and a wealth of local knowledge, Cottageline is an ideal partner.”

Norman Comfort from Cottageline, commented:
“We are delighted to be working with VisitEngland and sharing our local knowledge, national coverage and love of the regions within which we live and work. Through this campaign we hope to take our range of quality cottages and exceptional service to a wider audience offering them a true local experience.”

All campaign material will carry the cottageline.co.uk/visitengland web address, along with the VisitEngland logo.
