Virginia Launches New Online Travel Show

For the LOVE of Travel takes viewers on ‘only in Virginia’ travel experience

For the Love of TravelRICHMOND, Va., 2013-01-30 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Virginia Tourism Corporation debuted For the LOVE of Travel today, a brand-new, episodic travel show for YouTube. The state tourism office is one of the first to take a Travel Channel/Food Network-type approach to new videos targeted at the online audience. A new webisode will debut each month at www.YouTube.com/VisitVirginia.

For the LOVE of Travel will feature “only in Virginia” travel experiences that take viewers behind the scenes of oyster travel, wine adventures, restaurant hot spots and more. The show debuted with “Music Legends of The Crooked Road,” a webisode that celebrates Appalachian music at the Carter Family Fold, Ralph Stanley Museum and other destinations in Southwest Virginia.

“Video has the power to inspire visitors to travel to Virginia,” said Diane Bechamps, Vice President of Marketing for the Virginia Tourism Corporation. “It paints a picture for them and shows the beauty of Virginia and the stories of interesting local people and places. For the LOVE of Travel will capitalize on the growth of online videos and show ‘only in Virginia’ experiences that set us apart as a travel destination.”

The For the LOVE of Travel webisodes are short vignettes that feature authentic destinations and local people who tell a personal story about some of the lesser-known and newer travel experiences in Virginia. Visitors to Virginia.org will also be able to watch the videos and get helpful maps, itineraries, travel packages and suggestions to book a trip to the places featured in each webisode.
