Travelzoo Mobile Soars This Summer as Vacationers Seek Hot Deals

NEW YORK, August 2012-08-27 — /travelprnews.com/ — Travelzoo Inc. (NASDAQ: TZOO), a global Internet media company, today revealed that mobile users represented 26 percent of all U.S. visits this summer, up from 10 percent in the same period last year. Since July 1, 2012, more than 4 million visits to Travelzoo came from mobile devices to its highly rated U.S. iPhone and Android apps and U.S. mobile website.

Travel deals received the majority of interest from mobile visitors, with vacations and cruises proving most popular. In addition, mobile visitors were frequently accessing vacations that cost $500 or more per person, with demand spread across last-minute and advance-purchase trips.

One of the most popular travel deals this summer was a 15-night cruise between Southampton, England, and Miami, Fla. The deal was published Aug. 1, 2012, for departures Nov. 30, 2012, almost four months in advance. More than 30,000 Travelzoo subscribers accessed this deal from mobile devices.
