The Landmark Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong marks its 10th anniversary with prestigious Forbes and Travel & Leisure awards

Hong Kong, 2015-2-19 — /Travel PR News/ — The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong marks its 10th anniversary by winning prestigious 2015 Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards with triple Five Star distinctions across all three categories for hotel, spa and restaurant. At the Travel & Leisure 2014 Annual Travel Awards, The Oriental Spa also earned the coveted Best SPA award.

Forbes Travel Guide rates and recommends the world’s best travel experiences with a panel of inspectors who personally visit nearly 1,000 hotels, restaurants and spas all over the world to identify the best properties. The Landmark Mandarin Oriental is one of only three hotels in Hong Kong with 15 Stars.

The Annual Travel Awards, established since 2009 by Travel & Leisure China and Travel & Leisure GOLF, recognizes the world’s leading hotels, airlines, cruise lines and golf courses. The Best Spa award was presented at a ceremony in Shanghai on 12 February following the votes of high-end travelers, editors and readers.

“We are honored to have achieved 15 Stars in the 2015 Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards for the hotel, our two Michelin-starred restaurant Amber and The Oriental Spa, which has also been crowned as Best Spa by 2014 Annual Travel Awards,” said Torsten van Dullemen, General Manager of The Landmark Mandarin Oriental. “These outstanding achievements reflect our commitment to consistent service excellence which could not have been possible without the efforts of my knowledgeable and passionate team here at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental. In line with Mandarin Oriental Group’s service philosophy, we will continue to bring the highly personalized service we are known for to ever higher levels.”

According to Forbes, standards for Forbes Five Star Award certifications are exact, and few properties meet them. Within the industry, these awards are highly coveted and deeply respected. In 2015, only 115 hotels achieved Forbes Five Star Award status, 55 restaurants and 48 spas have achieved the Forbes Five Star Award.

Forbes Travel Guide’s (formerly Mobil Travel Guide) Star Awards ratings process is based on more than 500 standardized criteria for hotels, restaurants and spas worldwide, making it the most rigorous and comprehensive in the industry. To achieve Forbes Travel Guide Five Star status, properties must exceed these bar-setting service standards, which are determined through an unannounced, undercover service evaluation conducted by Forbes Travel Guide’s expert inspectors.
