The Copenhagen Fashion Week starts at the Copenhagen airport

The Copenhagen Fashion Week is coming up soon, and Copenhagen Airport now gives all travellers the opportunity of an extraordinary fashion experience. Six Danish fashion icons will present their personal styles and universes at a “Fashion Lounge” in the Copenhagen Airport Shopping Centre.

2013-01-16 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Copenhagen Fashion Week is coming up soon, and Copenhagen Airport takes this opportunity to open a new pop-up lounge focusing on Danish design and fashion. The theme of the lounge is “Fashion Your Way”, and up to and during the fashion week, there will be exhibitions featuring the personal styles of six well-known Danish fashion icons using products selected at the Copenhagen Airport Shopping Centre.

“Danish fashion and design is famous internationally, and during the Copenhagen Fashion Week, people come to Copenhagen from far and near to get inspiration from and buy Danish fashion wear. Copenhagen Airport is the gateway to Copenhagen. We have therefore decided to show travellers Danish fashion and design and let them experience the intense, fascinating atmosphere of the fashion week already at the airport,” said Carsten Nørland, VP, Sales & Marketing for Copenhagen Airport.

The Danish fashion icons featured are: Aura Dione, singer/songwriter; Christian Stadil, CEO of Hummel; Silas Adler, designer of Soulland; Trine Wackerhausen, the designer behind Wackerhaus; Frederik Lentz Andersen, fashion editor of Euroman; and Cecilie Christiansen, fashion editor of Elle.

In addition to fashion inspiration, the fashion lounge also offers great cocktails and delicious canapés. The new lounge will be located right after the big duty- and tax-free store, but only for a limited period up to and during the Copenhagen Fashion Week, namely from 22 January to 3 March 2013. Trine Wackerhausen, designer and owner of Wackerhaus
Trine Wacherhausen is the woman behind Danish fashion label Wackerhaus, which presents two womenswear collections a year based on new, feminine styles with a dash of sartorial power and a hint of masculinity. Wackerhaus’ design combines expressive cuts and details with sleek and timeless silhouettes, always focusing on an innovative selection of high-quality materials and modern textiles.

Silas Adler, the designer behind Soulland
In 2002, Silas Adler founded Danish menswear fashion label Soulland, which is one of the labels many people are watching closely during the fashion week. Initially, the design line consisted of T-shirts with prints targeting Copenhagen skaters; but Soulland has grown to become a world renowned classical men’s fashion label with a focus on aesthetic Scandinavian craftsmanship. Silas Adler was named ‘Designer of the Year’ at the 2012 Danish Fashion Awards ceremony.

Frederik Lentz Andersen, fashion editor of Euroman
As a fashion editor, the primary task of Frederik Lentz Andersen is to keep up-to-date on the latest trends of fashion and style for Euroman. Euroman magazine has been available for 20 years by now and has contributed to the contents and styles of the wardrobes of thousands of Danish men.

Cecilie Christiansen, editor in chief of ELLE
As the editor in chief of the fashion magazine ELLE, Cecilie Christiansen knows a lot about what’s up in the fashion industry and on the catwalk. As the editor of the only international fashion magazine in Denmark, Cecilie is always updated on the latest trends and a great source of inspiration for Danish women. Cecilie has been editor in chief of ELLE since 2008.

Aura Dione, singer/songwriter
Since her debut album ‘Columbine’ was released in 2008, Aura has enjoyed great success both in Denmark and internationally. She is best known for her three hits: ‘Geronimo’, ‘Friends’ and ‘In Love With The World’. Aura’s style is difficult to define, her references being almost unlimited. In many ways she is unique in a Danish context with her uncompromising mix of everything from pop refrain, backbeats, quiet ballads, grand string arrangements, melting choral singing and new folk music. It is all mixed with a twist and irresistibly creative energy.

Christian Stadil, CEO and owner of Hummel A/S
Christian Stadil has been the CEO and owner of the Hummel clothing label since 2000. He has written a number of books on business philosophy and creativity, for instance “Company Karma”, “Personal Karma – It’s never too late to become the person you thought you should be” (in Danish) and “Taking a bath with Picasso – How to become more creative” (in Danish)). Christian also gives talks internationally on subjects such as management, branding, creativity, innovation and self development, which are partly based on his business philosophy “Company Karma”.
