Prestigious tenth annual awards honour spa-goers’ favourite spas across the globe
Istanbul at the Bosphorus, Turkey – 2012-10-19 — /travelprnews.com/ — SpaFinder Wellness, the global spa and wellness resource, has named the Spa & Hammam at Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus as winner of the prestigious 2012 Country Award for Turkey. This recognition is given annually to the top spa in Turkey by spa goers across the world in the SpaFinder Wellness Readers’ Choice Awards.
Once again, the 2012 Readers’ Choice Awards tallied a record amount of votes globally — more than any other year in its 10-year history. As such, the Awards provide the most comprehensive consumer assessment of the global spa market available today, identifying spa-goers’ favourite spas by continent, country/region and across 27 categories.

Spa & Hammam introduces a decadent approach to the authentichammam experience, combining the traditional cleansing properties of the bath with the indulgent delights of contemporary Western treatments. Covering an area of 2,100 square metres (22,605 square feet), the Spa includes three separate hammams (men’s, women’s and couples’). Nine treatment rooms and one VIP Spa suite (with whirlpool) are arranged around a pillared indoor pool, sky-lit from a height of 6.7 metres (22 feet). The pool features underwater music, whirlpool and poolside relaxation areas.
The Spa’s hammam experience blends the time-honoured Turkish bathing ritual with a 21st century sensibility. Guests are taken on a journey through several stages of cleansing, purification, massage and relaxation. In addition to cleansing rituals, the Spa offers a series of customized hammam treatments, where a bathing ritual is combined with one or more modern therapies (such as salt peels, facials and wrapless wraps) to maximize the beneficial heat of thehammam. Face and body treatments are based around all-natural Sodashi and Natura Bissé products.
Readers’ Choice Awards are based on votes submitted worldwide atSpaFinder Wellness global consumer websites (including SpaFinder.com) and by readers of SpaFinder Wellness digital publications. Voters were asked to cast ballots only for stay and day spas they’ve personally visited within the past three years.
