Seasoned Capitol Hill Staffer Courtney Temple appointed U.S. Travel Director of Government Relations

Washington, D.C., 2013-06-27 — /travelprnews.com/ — The U.S. Travel Association today announced that Courtney Temple is the association’s new director of government relations, where she will strengthen the team’s efforts to advance policies that increase travel to and within the United States. The newest addition to U.S. Travel’s expanding government relations office, Temple joins the association after serving as U.S. Rep. Joe Heck’s (R-NV) legislative director for more than two years.

“Courtney brings to U.S. Travel leadership experience on a wide array of international and domestic policy issues that correspond to travel and tourism’s impact on the economy,” said Roger Dow, president and CEO, U.S. Travel Association. “Courtney will add tremendous value in our growing reach with Congress, government agencies and other stakeholders to implement measures that tap the many benefits of travel. We welcome Courtney and look forward to her immediate contribution to the team.”

As Rep. Heck’s legislative director, Temple managed the legislative staff and successfully guided five legislative initiatives introduced by the Congressman through the House. In addition, she developed policy positions and legislative initiatives for travel and tourism, the economy and the House Education and the Workforce Committee. Prior to joining Rep. Heck’s staff, Temple was a legislative assistant to former U.S. Representatives Steve Austria (R-OH) and David Hobson (R-OH).
