Powell, OH, 2013-01-19 — /travelprnews.com/ — Special Olympics Ohio and the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium welcome the Polar Plunge to the Zoo for the third year on Sat. February 16 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Polar Plunge at the Columbus Zoo is one of nine Polar Plunge fundraising events in Ohio to raise funds for Special Olympics Ohio.  A donation will also be made to the Polar Bear Conservation Fund on behalf of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium for hosting.

Plungers, cheered on by the Zoo’s own Polly Polar Bear, will jump into a swimming pool filled with ice-cold water near the Polar Bear habitat at Polar Frontier. Before jumping, plungers are asked to raise a minimum of $75; high school and college students can participate by raising $50. Plungers must be eight years of age or older to participate in the plunge.

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. followed by the plunge at 1:30 p.m. Non-plungers will be charged a $10 fee which includes Zoo admission and entry to the Post Plunge Party where Roosters food and Pepsi products will be available. The event schedule is as follows:
