(PRESS RELEASE) MIAMI, 2026-Apr-14 — /Travel PR News/ — Silversea has unveiled its World Cruise 2029, titled A Pacific Awakening, a 125-day voyage designed to deliver an in-depth exploration of the Pacific. Departing from San Diego on January 5, 2029, the journey will take place aboard the Silver Whisper, covering more than 60 destinations across 19 countries.
The itinerary has been carefully structured into eight thematic segments, each offering a distinct perspective on the cultural, historical, and natural diversity of the Pacific region. The voyage will traverse Polynesia, Micronesia, Melanesia, Australia, Asia, and New Zealand, combining iconic destinations with lesser-visited ports to provide a comprehensive and immersive travel experience.
Bert Hernandez highlighted that the programme has been designed to offer both depth and variety, featuring 17 overnight stays, newly introduced ports of call, and a range of curated experiences. These include exclusive events and immersive activities that allow guests to engage closely with local cultures and environments.
Among the standout elements of the journey are six signature events, each integrated into the itinerary to provide unique access and cultural insight. These include a private evening at the ʻIolani Palace in Honolulu, a performance at Tasmania’s historic Theatre Royal, and a full-ship private island celebration on Kalanggaman Island in the Philippines. Additional highlights include themed experiences in Tokyo and a concluding event at Pattaya’s Sanctuary of Truth, reflecting the voyage’s overarching theme of “From Kingdoms to Dynasties.”
The cruise also emphasizes exploration beyond traditional routes, incorporating lesser-known destinations such as Motu Tapu in French Polynesia and remote island communities in the Philippines. Alongside these hidden gems, the itinerary includes visits to more than 15 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, offering a balance of cultural heritage and off-the-beaten-path discovery.
An included overland experience will further enrich the journey, providing guests with access to inland destinations such as Xi’an, where they can explore the Terracotta Warriors. Additional optional excursions will offer deeper engagement with historically significant sites across Asia.
Onboard, the Silver Whisper offers an intimate luxury environment, accommodating just under 400 guests. The ship features ocean-view suites with dedicated butler service and a high crew-to-guest ratio, ensuring a personalised experience. Its size also allows access to smaller ports and remote locations that are typically inaccessible to larger vessels.
Pre-sale access for the World Cruise 2029 is available to Venetian Society members starting April 14, with general bookings opening on April 21. Through this extensive itinerary, Silversea aims to deliver a unique combination of cultural immersion, exclusive access, and refined comfort across one of the world’s most diverse and expansive regions.
