IHG Hotels & Resorts and Fullon Hotels & Resorts Sign HUALUXE Taipei to Introduce Premium Brand to Taiwan

IHG Hotels & Resorts and Fullon Hotels & Resorts marked the signing of HUALUXE Taipei at a ceremony in Taipei

(IN SHORT) IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed HUALUXE Taipei in partnership with Fullon Hotels & Resorts, marking the debut of the HUALUXE brand in Taiwan. Expected to open in 2026, the 199-room hotel will be located in Taipei’s historic Dalongdong area next to Yuanshan MRT Station, close to landmarks such as Taipei Confucius Temple, Dalongdong Baoan Temple and Dadaocheng. The hotel will combine HUALUXE’s premium hospitality approach, shaped by cultural heritage, refined service, tea, dining and social gathering experiences, with the local character of one of Taipei’s most historic neighbourhoods. The signing builds on IHG and Fullon’s existing collaboration on voco Chiayi and supports IHG’s wider expansion in Taiwan, where it now has 17 open hotels across eight brands. It also reflects the continuing global growth of HUALUXE, which had 27 open hotels and 20 in the pipeline as of the first quarter of 2026.

(PRESS RELEASE) TAIPEI, Taiwan, 2026-Jun-5 — /Travel PR News/ — IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed HUALUXE Taipei in partnership with Fullon Hotels & Resorts, introducing the HUALUXE Hotels & Resorts brand to the Taiwan market for the first time. Expected to open in 2026, the 199-room hotel will further expand IHG’s premium hospitality portfolio in Taiwan and build on the companies’ existing collaboration following voco Chiayi.

The signing reflects IHG’s continued strategy of bringing HUALUXE to more destinations around the world. The brand, which blends cultural heritage with contemporary hospitality, is positioned to serve travellers seeking refined service, a strong sense of place and experiences shaped by local traditions.

Taiwan’s hospitality sector is entering a new phase of quality-driven growth, supported by steady domestic demand, a broader mix of international visitors and increasing interest in more meaningful urban travel experiences. Against this backdrop, HUALUXE Taipei is designed to offer a premium stay rooted in thoughtful etiquette, cultural character and the brand’s signature focus on gathering, tea and dining.

The hotel will be located in Taipei’s historic Dalongdong district, next to Yuanshan MRT Station. Its location will give guests convenient access to cultural and heritage landmarks including Taipei Confucius Temple, Dalongdong Baoan Temple and Dadaocheng, while also placing them close to neighbourhood life and transport connections across the city.

HUALUXE Taipei will draw inspiration from the character of its surroundings through considered design, attentive service and guest experiences that reflect the area’s history and everyday rhythm. The hotel will invite both local and international travellers to slow down, explore Taipei’s cultural layers and experience the city through a premium hospitality lens.

Daniel Aylmer, Chief Executive Officer, Greater China at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the signing of HUALUXE Taipei marks another important milestone in IHG’s partnership with Fullon Hotels & Resorts and another step in the global expansion of HUALUXE. He said Taipei’s combination of business demand, international connectivity and cultural richness makes it an ideal location for the brand’s Taiwan debut. He added that IHG and Fullon aim to create a premium hospitality experience with a strong sense of place while contributing to the long-term development of Taiwan’s hospitality sector.

Joseph Yang, Group General Manager of Fullon Hotels & Resorts, said HUALUXE’s emphasis on refined rituals, thoughtful details and culturally rooted hospitality aligns closely with Fullon’s long-standing commitment to warm and attentive service. He said the partnership will combine Taiwan’s cultural depth with an international brand perspective to create a premium stay experience that shares the warmth and character of Taiwanese hospitality with travellers from around the world.

The signing also highlights the wider growth of the HUALUXE brand. Since launching in 2012, HUALUXE has continued to expand across major cities and resort destinations. As of the first quarter of 2026, the brand had 27 open hotels and 20 more in the global pipeline.

HUALUXE Taipei will further strengthen IHG’s presence in Taiwan, where the group first entered the market with Holiday Inn Express Taoyuan in 2008. IHG now operates 17 hotels across eight brands in Taiwan, covering the Luxury & Lifestyle, Premium and Essentials segments. The latest signing reflects IHG’s focus on expanding with the right brands, locations and partners to meet the needs of domestic and international guests.
