MSC Cruises Enhances MSC Poesia with New Yacht Club and Upgraded Amenities Ahead of Alaska Season Launch

(IN SHORT) MSC Cruises has completed a major refurbishment of MSC Poesia, introducing new premium features including the MSC Yacht Club, expanded dining options, and upgraded wellness and fitness facilities. The transformation is part of the company’s wider effort to modernise its Musica Class fleet, ensuring a consistent elevated experience across all vessels. Following the upgrade, MSC Poesia will begin its Alaska season from Seattle in May 2026, offering seven-night itineraries to key destinations such as Juneau and Ketchikan. The ship will later transition to Caribbean sailings from Miami before returning to Alaska in 2027. The enhancements reflect MSC Cruises’ strategy to combine luxury, variety, and flexibility in its cruise offerings.

(PRESS RELEASE) GENEVA, Switzerland, 2026-Apr-15 — /Travel PR News/ — MSC Cruises has unveiled the newly upgraded MSC Poesia following the vessel’s successful refurbishment at the Palumbo Malta Shipyard. The extensive dry dock transformation introduces a range of new features, including the addition of the premium MSC Yacht Club, alongside upgraded dining, wellness, and fitness facilities, as the ship prepares for its upcoming Alaska season.

The refurbishment represents a key milestone in MSC Cruises’ broader fleet modernisation programme. MSC Poesia is now the second ship in the Musica Class to undergo a major upgrade, following the recent completion of enhancements on MSC Magnifica. With further upgrades planned for MSC Musica and MSC Orchestra, the initiative ensures that all four ships in the class will offer a consistent premium experience across the fleet.

A central feature of the transformation is the introduction of the MSC Yacht Club, the brand’s exclusive “ship-within-a-ship” concept. The new addition includes 69 luxury suites, complemented by 24-hour butler and concierge services. Guests staying within the Yacht Club will also have access to a private restaurant, lounge, sundeck with whirlpools, and dedicated grill and bar facilities, creating a more personalised and secluded onboard experience.

The ship’s culinary offering has also been expanded with the introduction of two specialty dining venues. Guests can now enjoy Butcher’s Cut, an American-style steakhouse concept, and Kaito Sushi Bar, which focuses on authentic Asian cuisine and freshly prepared sushi. These additions are designed to broaden the onboard dining experience and cater to diverse tastes.

Wellness and recreation facilities have also been significantly enhanced. The redesigned MSC Aurea Spa offers a refreshed environment for relaxation, while the MSC Gym Powered by Technogym® introduces updated fitness equipment and dedicated workout spaces. Additional features include a Gentleman’s Barber and the Top 15 Exclusive Solarium, an outdoor area designed for guests seeking a more tranquil and premium leisure experience.

Following its refurbishment, MSC Poesia will reposition from Europe, transiting the Panama Canal en route to Seattle for its Alaska debut. Beginning in May 2026, the ship will operate seven-night itineraries exploring destinations such as Ketchikan, Juneau, Endicott Arm, and Icy Strait Point, offering guests access to some of Alaska’s most scenic landscapes.

After completing its Alaska season, MSC Poesia will move to Miami for the winter 2026–2027 season, offering Caribbean cruises that include stops in Jamaica, Colombia, Costa Rica, Aruba, Curaçao, and Belize. The vessel is scheduled to return to Alaska for the summer 2027 season, providing continuity in its seasonal deployment.

The upgrades to MSC Poesia reflect MSC Cruises’ continued investment in enhancing onboard experiences and delivering a higher standard of comfort, service, and variety across its fleet.
