Orvér succeeds Nathaniel Pieper, who has moved to a new role within American Airlines.

(PRESS RELEASE) FORT WORTH, TX, 2026-Feb-23 — /Travel PR News/ — oneworld has appointed aviation executive Ole Orvér as its new Chief Executive Officer, with his tenure set to begin on April 1, 2026. The leadership change comes as the global airline alliance continues to expand its role in shaping collaborative services, customer experience, and technological integration across its member carriers.

Orvér, a Swedish national, brings more than two decades of experience in the aviation sector. He most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer at Finnair, where he led a significant reshaping of the airline’s commercial model, network planning, and customer engagement initiatives, including the introduction of new revenue strategies and loyalty programmes.

Before joining Finnair, Orvér held senior leadership roles at Qatar Airways as Senior Vice President of Network Management, and previously worked with Air Berlin, LOT Polish Airlines, and SAS Scandinavian Airlines. His career has focused on strengthening airline partnerships, optimizing route networks, and delivering commercially driven transformation across international markets.

In his new position, Orvér will guide oneworld’s efforts to deepen collaboration among member airlines, enhance customer-facing services, and leverage innovation to deliver more integrated travel experiences. He will report directly to the alliance’s Governing Board, composed of the chief executives of its member airlines.

Orvér succeeds Nathaniel Pieper, who has transitioned to a chief commercial role at American Airlines. The alliance expressed appreciation for Pieper’s leadership and contributions during his tenure.
