OLT Express launches major expansion of flights from Dresden

Dresden, Bremen, 2012-09-06 — /travelprnews.com/ — The airline OLT Express Germany is once again significantly expanding its range of flights from Dresden. Starting on 15 October 2012, it is adding new flights to Vienna, Budapest and London alongside its existing Dresden-Zurich and Dresden-Hamburg routes. In addition, the Dresden-Hamburg route launched this spring will be operated with a Fokker 100 jet aircraft instead of the previous turboprop, doubling the number of seats available.

In London OLT Express will be flying to Southend Airport (SEN), recently reopened for the Olympic Games. As the name suggests, the airport is situated at Southend-on-Sea and offers easy access to the British capital by train. The site started life as a Royal Flying Corps base in 1914, and in the 1960s the airport was the third largest in the London area, handling around 700,000 passengers a year. It was reopened in April this year with an extended runway and in July 2012 became the sixth official IATA airport in London alongside Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City. OLT Express will be flying from Dresden to Southend Airport daily.

This autumn also sees daily flights from Dresden to the Austrian capital Vienna. Budapest will be on the timetable three times a week, with flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The Dresden-Hamburg route will run from Mondays to Fridays with a total of 10 flights per week. The Dresden-Zurich route will also continue to operate, with several daily flights from Mondays to Fridays and one weekend flight. The three new routes offered by this quality airline in the low-cost segment are available for booking online now at www.oltexpress.de.

Prof. Dr. Joachim Klein, CEO of OLT Express Germany: “Dresden was OLT Express Germany’s first base, from which we have driven forward our expansion since the beginning of this year. We are highly successful in Saxony and are therefore once again significantly expanding our offer with flights to Vienna, London and Budapest. We are fully committed to serving the Saxon people’s almost legendary wanderlust, and we are convinced that we will continue to succeed in this with an attractive range of routes, the high quality of our product and our low prices.” Following the introduction of the Hamburg route in April and the simultaneous doubling of flights on the Dresden-Zurich route, a significant expansion of flights to Hamburg is also planned.

The name OLT Express Germany combines two quality airlines: on 1 September 2012 OLT Express Germany took over the operations of Contact Air. The company now has more than 500 employees based mainly at its three sites in Bremen, Stuttgart and Saarbrücken. Following the merger, the OLT Express Germany fleet now comprises 15 aircraft including ten Fokker 100 jets. Both airlines are synonymous with reliability and high quality aviation services.

With the development of its own extensive route network, OLT Express is entering the low-cost business segment, offering customers attractive routes within Germany and to other European countries at low prices. Flights can be booked at www.oltexpress.de and start at €49 including all taxes and charges.
