(PRESS RELEASE) BANGKOK, 2025-Mar-28 — /Travel PR News/ — Minor Hotels is excited to unveil its latest project in Paraguay – the NH Collection Asunción – a striking new addition to the capital’s skyline that promises to redefine luxury hospitality and urban living. This ambitious development is set to form a central piece of a vast mixed-use complex on Avenida Santa Teresa, just 400 metres from the intersection with Avenida Aviadores del Chaco, one of Asunción’s most vibrant thoroughfares. Designed to be the tallest building in the city and the fourth tallest in South America, the project will integrate upscale residences, offices, retail spaces, and parking facilities into an urban ecosystem that will energize the local economy.
Scheduled to open its doors in 2029, the new NH Collection hotel will feature 80 elegantly appointed guest rooms and will be positioned within the upper-upscale market segment. Guests can expect a premium hospitality experience with world-class service, reflected in the hotel’s impressive amenities, which include a spa, pool, restaurant and bar, terrace, heliport, and well-equipped meeting facilities – catering equally to business and leisure travellers.
Developed in close partnership with Grupo Petra, one of Paraguay’s premier real estate firms celebrated for its innovative, high-calibre projects, this project represents a strategic investment with a total estimated outlay between eight and 12 million dollars. It is expected to create 35 to 40 direct jobs, significantly contributing to Asunción’s economic and tourism development.
Gonzalo Aguilar, CEO of Minor Hotels Europe & Americas, remarked, “We are confident that, together with Grupo Petra, we will transform this project into a benchmark in Asunción. The arrival of NH Collection reflects our commitment to expanding our footprint in Paraguay with a product that elevates the hospitality standard in the country, marking a turning point in the tourism experience for the city.” He noted that the strategic entry into Paraguay is driven by observed growth in both corporate and leisure tourism, as well as increasing demand in the upscale and premium segments, with Asunción emerging as a key destination for events and conventions.
Carlos Guasti, Director of Grupo Petra, added, “We are thrilled to join forces with Minor Hotels, a partner that shares our passion for excellence and quality. With their expertise, we are embarking on a project that will not only serve as an architectural landmark but also redefine urban hospitality and contribute to the vibrancy of Asunción.” Construction is slated to commence in the coming months, with the hotel’s grand inauguration anticipated in 2029.
