Chef Akira Back to open a new contemporary Japanese restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Seoul

Seoul, Korea, 2019-Jan-18 — /Travel PR News/ — Four Seasons Hotel Seoul is set to open a new contemporary Japanese restaurant, Akira Back, this March. Akira Back at Four Seasons Hotel Seoul will be a stylish 12th floor destination that will take diners on an unforgettable culinary journey showcasing celebrity chef Akira Back’s award-winning modern Japanese fare with a Korean essence inspired by his sense of adventure and boundless creativity.

Akira Back is a Korean-born and American-raised chef who continues to redefine Asian cuisine to create unique dining experiences around the world. For more than 24 years, Chef Back has impressed the culinary world with his bold interpretations of Asian fare that combine classic Japanese cuisine with other international flavours. His adventurous approach to cooking was shaped by his early years playing extreme sports as a professional snowboarder, bringing the same level of thrill and challenge to the kitchen for inventive and leading-edge masterpieces.

“Having been a professional snowboarder for seven years, I found myself feeling the exact same thrill in the kitchen as when I’m racing down snow covered blankets in Aspen, Colorado. That spurred me on to pursue my full-time culinary career and to widen my possibilities in creating complementing unique fusion food,” says Chef Akira Back.

Throughout his career, Chef Akira Back has received numerous accolades and recognitions including “Rising Star” by Restaurant Hospitality (2008) and “Best Chef in Las Vegas” by Las Vegas Weekly (2008). Chef Back has also participated in some of the culinary world’s most prestigious events and had the distinct honour of hosting the prestigious James Beard House dinners for six years.

Chef Akira Back now owns a portfolio of restaurants worldwide including Kumi Japanese Restaurant + Bar by Akira Back at Mandalay Bay and the famed Yellowtail Japanese Restaurant & Lounge by Akira Back at Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, both part of the prestigious Hakkasan Group portfolio where he is Executive Chef and Partner. Additionally, Chef Akira Back opened his namesake brand, Akira Back Restaurants in Singapore, Hanoi, New Delhi and Jakarta with additional locations opening in Toronto, Dubai and Bangkok, as well as Michelin-starred restaurant DOSA in Seoul, Korea.

In March 2019, Akira Back at Four Seasons Hotel Seoul will introduce a new kind of Japanese cuisine offering creative and unique dining experience never seen before in Seoul. “We are very excited to announce the opening of Akira Back at Four Seasons Hotel Seoul in March,” says Alejandro Bernabé, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Seoul. “The dining scene in Seoul is dynamic and with Akira Back, we strive to bring a new dimension of Japanese cuisine to the city by offering an unforgettable experience with innovative culinary creations in a stylish and energetic setting, perfect for both private, intimate gatherings and social get-together events.”

Combined with world-class Four Seasons service and stylish and energetic atmosphere, diners can look forward to a memorable dining experience that stimulates and excites with each visit.

“Everyone can get the best produce but the biggest difference at Akira Back will be the experience of discovering the flavours that I put together. My cooking reflects my personality and the influences around me, and it will never be at a standstill because I’m always exploring, and I hope to bring everyone with me on this exciting journey of innovation and discovery,” says Chef Akira Back.
