(PRESS RELEASE) HONG KONG, 2026-Feb-24 — /Travel PR News/ — Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has named Olympic gymnastics legend Simone Biles as its first Global Wellness Ambassador, marking a new chapter in the brand’s commitment to holistic wellbeing in luxury hospitality. The long-term collaboration reflects Mandarin Oriental’s focus on integrating physical health, mental resilience, recovery, and lifestyle balance into its wellness offerings—principles closely aligned with Biles’s personal journey and professional achievements.
In her new role, Biles will work closely with Mandarin Oriental’s Wellness Board, contributing ideas and practical insights alongside specialists in movement, meditation, sleep, nutrition, and performance. Her involvement will help shape future wellness programmes and experiences, while also supporting global marketing initiatives and storytelling campaigns that promote a comprehensive approach to wellbeing. The collaboration is designed to move beyond traditional celebrity endorsements by fostering meaningful cooperation in developing innovative wellness concepts.
Biles introduced her new role during a visit to Mandarin Oriental, Milan, marking her first time in the Italian city as an international sports fan. The appearance symbolised her transition from elite athlete to influential advocate for balanced and sustainable wellbeing practices.
The partnership launch is being celebrated with special guest experiences at Mandarin Oriental, Milan available through the end of March. Among them is the Double-Double Glow spa treatment, which combines advanced skincare and thermal therapies designed to support muscle recovery while enhancing skin vitality. The treatment includes a focused massage using alternating hot and cold stones to ease muscle tension and improve circulation, followed by a hydrating facial treatment enhanced with cryo tools. Guests can also enjoy the Champion Chip cookie, created with the hotel’s culinary team as a balanced indulgence inspired by Biles’s approach to nutrition and performance.
Mandarin Oriental and Biles will also work together to support charitable initiatives through Laureus Sport for Good, an international organisation dedicated to improving young people’s lives through sport. The collaboration reflects shared values around the positive social impact of athletics and community engagement.
The appointment underscores Mandarin Oriental’s belief that wellness will play a defining role in the future of luxury hospitality. As the Group continues to expand into major global destinations, it aims to position holistic wellbeing at the centre of the guest experience, with Biles serving as a key voice in shaping this evolving strategy.
