Lufthansa Airlines and Austrian Airlines have announced a number of additional flights, particularly on routes connecting Europe with destinations in Asia and Africa.

The airline group reports that demand for long-distance travel has risen significantly in recent weeks, prompting the introduction of extra services at short notice. Lufthansa Airlines will operate additional flights from its Munich hub to Singapore, adding four round-trip services to the route in the coming weeks. The airline is also introducing two special round-trip flights between Frankfurt and Cape Town to support demand for travel to South Africa.

Further capacity increases are planned for the Middle East, with two additional flights scheduled between Frankfurt and Riyadh. These services are expected to provide more flexibility for travelers heading to the region during the current surge in demand.

Austrian Airlines is also expanding its long-haul offering. The carrier has scheduled ten special round-trip flights between Vienna and Bangkok, significantly increasing available seats on the route.
