Korean Air’s inaugural flight to Maldives

2013-03-12 — /travelprnews.com/ — Korean Air has started flights between Maldives and Korea today. It’s inaugural flight landed at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport at 06:20 am with 250 passengers. Korean Air uses A330-300 aircraft has capacity for 276 passengers to fly 3-days a week from Seoul Incheon airport to Ibrahim Nasir International Airport after transiting in Colombo, Srilanka.

Korean Air is the flag carrier and the largest airline of South Korea, with global headquarters located in Gong hang-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Korean Air’s international passenger division and related subsidiary cargo division together serve 130 cities in 45 countries, while its domestic division serves 20 destinations. It is among the top 20 airlines in the world in terms of passengers carried and is also the top-ranked international cargo airline. Incheon International Airport serves as Korean Air’s international hub. Korean Air also maintains a satellite headquarters campus at Incheon. It was voted Asia’s best airline by Business Traveller readers in 2012.

South Korea is an emerging market to. On January 1,410 arrivals were registered from Korea which is an increase of 51.6%. Outlook for South Korean outbound travel remains promising as trends indicate consumers favor destinations in the Asia Pacific as the cost is cheaper in comparison to most other countries. MMPRC predicts that the commencement of Korean Air will increase the number of arrivals from Korea to Maldives. Korea is the 3r largest arrivals from the North East Asia region and holds a market share of 1.6%
