Kempinski Hotel Bahía opens the holiday season

Estepona, Spain, 2019-Dec-04 — /Travel PR News/ — Over 700 locals and hotel guests from all over the world descended on the Kempinski Hotel Bahía last weekend for a wonderful Christmas market and lighting of the lavish Diamond Christmas Tree this annual event combined in a single day, luxury, art, charity and local community in line with the Kempinski core values. The tree, glittered with stunning handmade decorations encrusted with diamonds and precious jewels all flawlessly cut and ethically sourced, the decorations include 3crt pink diamonds, 4crt sapphire, oval red diamonds, black and white diamonds, and a mixture of remastered, expertly upcycled jewellery from the likes of Bvulgari, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Chanel. The tree was unveiled by the Hotel General Manager Axel Bethke, the Mayor of Estepona Jose Maria García Urbano, designer Debbie Wingham and Santa Claus!

Inspired by the verdant feathers of a peacock and the modernist art-deco era, the tree features unique martini glasses, feathers, perfume bottles and even 3D printed chocolate peacocks. But it wouldn’t be Christmas without tradition, and guests can still expect to find classic decorations such as snowflakes, fairies and beautifully decorated baubles, carefully curated with a mixture of materials, from diamond dust and 24 carat gold, to emu and ostrich eggs.

Other highlights included a 3 meter high handmade gingerbread house by Executive Chef David Fernandez and Pastry Chef Malika, a visit from Santa, and presentation of a stunning Peacock Cake, also by Debbie Wingham, surrounded by hundreds of exquisitely designed cupcakes. Visitors also enjoyed browsing the stalls of artisan producers, such as local natural honey, wine from Malaga, art and handmade Christmas decorations, there were also a number of Charities attending the event, ‘Piel de Mariposa’, ‘FUNDATUL’, and the ‘Asociación de Autismo Ninos Grande Estepona’. Early in the evening there was entertainment from a local choir, El Pastoral Cautivo de Estepona and the children of Colegio San Jose de Estepona set the scene for the perfect start to the Christmas season.

This is the first of many enthralling Christmas activities at the hotel, including a daily Christmas Afternoon Tea at the Black Rose Bar in the lobby as well as the Christmas Eve Gala, Christmas Day lunch. Just after Christmas, there will be a number of events such as the Diamond and Champagne Night on 28 of December where guests will have the chance to indulge in a decadently curated cocktail dining experience by Executive Chef David Fernandez and take home a diamond valued at €2,500. The indulgent cocktail dinner with a twist will see guests sip on Perrier Jouet as they each have the chance to select a key and attempt to unlock a box containing the valuable treasure, whoever’s key fits the lock will take home the dazzling diamond.

In the final lead up to New Year’s Eve there will be a Flamenco evening on the 27 of December, a Seafood Dinner on the 30 of December all including live music. This theme for this New Year’s Eve Gala event at the hotel is ‘The Greatest Showman’ and ‘Circus Circus’, hosted at Baltazar Bar and Grill, with dancing in the lobby till late into the night.
