Jersey’s Atlantic Hotel Featured on US Travel Channel’s Flagship Series ‘Island Secrets’

2013-06-07 — /travelprnews.com/ — Today (06|06|2013), Jersey’s Atlantic Hotel will appear on the US Travel Channel’s flagship series ‘Island Secrets.’ In the 30 minute programme which airs at 12 noon Eastern time, The Atlantic is the only hotel in Jersey to be featured and was chosen for its stunning interiors and incredible views out to St Ouen’s Bay.

The director and his production team travelled to Jersey and Guernsey to experience the very best that the islands have to offer and along with The Atlantic Hotel the programme focuses on the heritage of the Channel Islands with a look at Jersey’s Fort Leicester and La Crete Fort along with Elizabeth Castle. It also showcases the diversity of sporting activities available, including blo-karting and diving.

Hotel owner, Patrick Burke, who was interviewed for the programme, was delighted to host the crew back in September 2012 and help with the arrangements which included visits to some of the high quality local artisan producers who supply the hotel’s kitchens such as Faulkner Fisheries at L’Etacq and Classic Herd in St Peter.

The Travel Channel is the word’s leading travel media brand and the network is available in nearly 96 million American cable homes. It’s Travel Channel HD™ simulcast is distributed to almost 37 million viewers and is carried on every major provider. UK viewers can watch the show online via the Channel’s YouTube page at www.youtube.com/user/TravelChannelTV/featured.

Other destinations featured recently on ‘Island Secrets’ have been St Vincent and the Grenadines and the charming Phlegraean Islands in Italy, which puts the Channel Islands in extremely good company.

Commenting on the programme, Atlantic Hotel Owner and Managing Director Patrick Burke said, “We are over the moon to have been selected to appear in this incredibly high profile and wide reaching quality travel programme and I am thrilled that we are leading the way in raising awareness levels for Jersey in the US market and giving American viewers a flavour of the rich beauty, culture and heritage of the Channel Islands of which we are all so proud. This is an amazing piece of coverage for the island as, in addition to the number of people who will see the show, the Travel Channel has 657,024 Twitter followers and nearly 900,000 likes on Facebook.”
