Jade Liska promoted to Deputy Director of Aviation – Planning & Engineering at Kansas City Aviation Department

Kansas City, MO, 2018-Mar-16 — /Travel PR News/ — The City of Kansas City, Mo., Aviation Department is pleased to announce that Jade Liska has been promoted to the position of Deputy Director of Aviation – Planning & Engineering. The Aviation Department owns and operates Kansas City International Airport and Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport.

In his new role, Liska will serve as project manager in the design and construction of a new passenger terminal at Kansas City International Airport, coordinating with the outside design and construction team and the Aviation Department leadership team. Liska will also manage other landside and airside construction and maintenance activities at both airports.

“We are happy to be able to promote from within to take advantage of Jade’s institutional knowledge,” said Director of Aviation Pat Klein. He has already hit the ground running by utilizing his existing relationships with contractors and civic leaders. He will be an excellent asset as we embark on designing and building a new terminal for the Kansas City region.”

Jade Liska began his career in the early 1990s in Wichita, Kansas, where he was in the private sector working as lead project manager in multi-disciplinary engineering, planning, surveying and construction firms for more than 12 years.

In 2005, Liska started at the City of Kansas City, Missouri, as a Planner III, serving as the Northland Planner for the City. He was promoted to Division Manager of the Citywide Planning Division in 2007. In that role he dealt with long-range, preservation and transportation planning, along with census/GIS and population mapping.

Liska was transferred to the Aviation Department in 2014 to become Manager of the Planning and Engineering Division, assisting the Deputy Director. Since his arrival at the Aviation Department, Liska introduced the department’s first Construction Manager at Risk process and provided coordination with Public Works in Citywide paving contracts, storm water management and sustainability practices.

He is a licensed Professional Landscape Architect in Kansas and Missouri and is a graduate of Iowa State University. Liska is active in the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce, Platte County Economic Development Council, Clay County Economic Development Council and KCI Rotary Club. Liska lives in Clay County in Kansas City, Missouri with his wife and two children.

The Kansas City Airport System is an Enterprise Fund Department of the City of Kansas City, Mo., and is supported wholly by airport user charges.
