Madrid, 2013-08-16 — /travelprnews.com/ —  In 2012, Iberia attended more than 800,000 minors aged between 5 and 17 who travelled alone, accompanying them throughout the trip, from pickup at the airport of origin to handover to authorised adults at the destination.

The unaccompanied minor (UM) service should be requested when the ticket is purchased from Serviberia (902 400 500), travel agents, or the Iberia website, which supplies full information about the service at http://www.iberia.com/fly-with-iberia/minors/.

This service is provided on point-to-point and connecting flights on all Iberia Group airlines (Iberia, Iberia Express, and Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum).

For connections made at Madrid-Barajas airport, Iberia boasts a new 160 sq. mts. Lounge in T4, near the main departure lounge, equipped for children with TV, tables for having snacks or playing, and even a quiet zone for stretching out on reclining chairs to rest. The special lounge is a part of Iberia’s Ágora project, a programme to improve all customers’ travel experience at the airline’s T4 hub.

Iberia Plus Kids

Iberia also has a loyalty programme for children between 2 and 11, called Iberia Plus Kids, allowing children to earn travel points and obtain special deals in children’s recreation centres, language studies abroad, etc.

Applications to join the programme are available on www.iberia.com on the Iberia Plus kids page and must be signed by parents or guardians, and include copies of identity documents of parents/guardians and children. They can be submitted in any of three ways:

New members will receive a welcome pack including an Iberia Plus Kids membership card, luggage tags, and a small gift.
