Hurricane Sandy | VIA Rail Canada maintains its services

Montréal, 2012-10-29 — /travelprnews.com/ — VIA Rail Canada will operate according to regular schedules today, despite the impact of Hurricane Sandy, which is being forecasted by Environment Canada in the Maritimes, the Province of Quebec and Ontario. However, unforeseen circumstances caused by the Hurricane may disrupt schedules. VIA Rail advises caution when traveling and invites Canadians to visit viarail.ca or dial 1 888 VIA RAIL (1 888 842 7245) for more information regarding VIA Rail’s schedules or to book a train ticket.

VIA Rail’s partner in the U.S., Amtrak, cancelled its trains today on the Montréal-New York route, and the train from Toronto to NYC that left this morning at 8:20 a.m. will only go as far as Albany, New York.
