The celebration took place on October 22 at the hotel’s Oceanside Terrace and was attended by Dangui Oduber, Minister of Tourism of Aruba, Ronella Tjin Asjoe-Croes, CEO of the Aruba Tourism Authority, and Tisa LaSorte, President of Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association.

Founded in 1952 by Kemmons Wilson, Holiday Inn has been a trusted hotel partner for families and business travelers across the world. In 1969, the Holiday Inn Resort Aruba opened its doors to welcome both leisure and business travelers to the vibrant island of Aruba. It was only the third hotel to open on Aruba’s beachfront, and quickly began expanding its capacity to welcome new guests. In 1975, the property was expanded to 400 rooms, making it the largest hotel on the island at the time. In 1989, a third expansion saw the arrival of the resort’s Sea Tower. The Holiday Inn Resort Aruba property has been commemorating its 50th anniversary with events throughout the year, beginning with the inauguration of the Hadrey Gallery in the hotel’s main lobby. The gallery, which was named after the gathering space in traditional Aruban homes, displays a collection of images of the hotel’s history and beloved employees – some of whom have been with the hotel for over 30 years.
