HERSHEY LODGE Offers Special Fall Dining Experiences

Hershey, Pa., 2012-09-19 — /travelprnews.com/ — Hershey Lodge is featuring a variety of unique dining experiences throughout October and November. Among them are Oktoberfest, a Winemaker dinner, Witches Brewed Children’s Teas, Wild Game and Mushroom features, and a Beaujolais Nouveau celebration.

October 1 through 28, the Lodge will celebrate the traditional festival of Oktoberfest in three of its restaurants, Hershey Grill, The Forebay and Bears’ Den. Special menus will feature authentic Bavarian food and traditional German beers. Bavarian specialties will include sauerbraten and jagerschnitzel.

On October 17, celebrate outstanding female winemakers at a Wines Created by Women, Winemaker Dinner. The evening pairs an extraordinary reception and four-course meal with wines from selected female winemakers. Each course will be introduced by Hershey Lodge Chef, Terry Sheehan and Ste Michelle Wine Estate, Wine Expert, Shannon Reynolds. Cost is $79 (inclusive of tax and service charges). Reservations are required and can be made by calling 717-534-8601.

The Witches Brewed Children’s Tea at Hershey Lodge will be offered at 12:30 and 5:30 p.m. on October 20, 27 and November 3. Children can sip warm hot chocolate and enjoy orange and white chocolate teas, while enjoying a variety of finger foods on the spooky children’s buffet. Following tea and ghostly food they will begin pumpkin decorating! The event is complete with Halloween-themed storytelling, plus kids receive Hershey Lodge logoed aprons. Costumes are encouraged. Cost is $40 for an adult and child, and $18 for each additional person. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 717-534-8601.

As hunting season approaches, special mushroom and game menus will be available at Hershey Grilland The Forebay from October 29 through November 14. Nightly features at the restaurants will vary. One offering will be Italian rabbit sausage ravioli with sautéed chanterelles and spinach tossed in a rich butternut squash cream. Another will be chili-crusted wild boar loin with apple-cabbage slaw, smashed baby Yukon potatoes and chipotle cranberry barbeque glaze.

From November 15 through 18, Hershey Grill and The Forebay are joining in the celebration as guests in homes, cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars and bistros around the world enjoy this year’s release of Beaujolais Nouveau, a red wine made from Gamay grapes that are produced in the Beaujolais region of France.
It’s the first wine of the harvest and is fermented for just a few weeks. By French law, Beaujolais Nouveau is to be released for sale no earlier than the third Thursday of November. At one minute past midnight on that date, more than 1 million cases of Beaujolais Nouveau begin their journey through France to Paris for immediate shipment to all parts of the world. By the time it’s over, more than 65 million bottles – nearly half of the region’s total annual production – will be distributed and consumed around the world.

Limited-time Beaujolais Nouveau specials (3 courses for $30) will be available at Hershey Grill and The Forebay, featuring such items as tournedo of beef tenderloin with salsify and celery root puree, brown butter green beans, and Beajoulais-cipollini jus.
