Three More Aircraft To Join Qatar Executive Fleet
SAVANNAH, Georgia, 2016-Jul-15 — /Travel PR News/ — Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. today announced that Qatar Airways has converted three of its G650ER aircraft options to firm orders as part of a 30-aircraft agreement signed in May 2015.
The aircraft will join the company’s Qatar Executive fleet, making Qatar Executive the largest dedicated G650 operator in the world.
“Gulfstream is honored that the G650ER has made such a positive impression on Qatar and its customers,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream Aerospace. “The response to the G650ER solidifies the aircraft’s prestigious standing in the marketplace as the only aircraft capable of delivering worldwide city pairs in world-class comfort. From the technology in the flight deck to the comforts in the cabin, the G650ER delivers on its promises.”
Qatar Airways group chief executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker said, “Gulfstream’s commitment to delivering the world’s finest flying experience has made them world leaders in private aviation, which in turn makes them the perfect partner for Qatar Executive. Their focus on performance, efficiency and innovation mirrors our own and is the key to our growing and successful affiliation.”
From its start in 2009, Qatar Executive has rapidly risen to become a leader in air charter services for individuals, families, businesses, corporations and governments. As part of Qatar Airways, one of the world’s leading airlines, Qatar Executive’s clients are assured an excellent charter experience.
The G650ER has the longest range at the fastest speed, traveling 7,500 nautical miles/13,890 kilometers at Mach 0.85 and 6,400 nm/11,853 km at Mach 0.90. Gulfstream announced the G650ER in May 2014, and the aircraft received type certification from the Federal Aviation Administration five months later. The first fully outfitted G650ER was delivered in November 2014, ahead of the 2015 projected delivery date.
The G650ER cabin shares the same features and amenities as the G650 and provides passengers the healthiest and most comfortable cabin experience. The aircraft has the largest purpose-built business-jet cabin and offers passengers wider seats, more aisle room, 16 panoramic windows, the lowest cabin altitude of any business jet and quiet cabin sound levels.
