BELFAST, Northern Ireland, 2018-May-28 — /Travel PR News/ — Bangor man Neal Skelton, who works within the airfield operations team at George Best Belfast City Airport, has been announced as a finalist in the acclaimed British-Irish Airports EXPO ‘Unsung Heroes’ award.

Designed to recognise those whose work is fundamental to the running of the airport but often goes unnoticed, the winner of the ‘Unsung Heroes’ award will be selected through a public online poll accessible through the Airports EXPO website and running throughout May.

Mark Beattie, Operations Director at Belfast City Airport, said:

“From championing the National Certificate in Airfield Operations to chairing regular meetings for all operational staff, Neal is an indispensable member of our team.

“Neal constantly demonstrates his commitment to the airport and is passionate about ensuring each customer has as smooth a journey as possible. He has a genuine desire to improve the running of the airport and does so with a smile on his face.

“Neal dedicates his free time to helping charities, having completed 89 marathons whilst raising money for organisations such as War Child, Diabetes UK and Help for Heroes. The fact that seven of these were ultra-marathons just shows the extent to which Neal is willing to go above and beyond to help those in need.

“We would encourage everyone to help the Belfast City Airport show their appreciation for Neal by voting for him on the Airports EXPO website.”
