George Best Belfast City Airport congratulates Ballymoney’s Millbrook Resource Centre as the overall winner of the Best Kept Health & Social Care Awards

BELFAST, Northern Ireland, 2018-Sep-24 — /Travel PR News/ — Millbrook Resource Centre, Ballymoney, has been named the overall winner at the Best Kept Health & Social Care Awards, sponsored by George Best Belfast City Airport.

Crowned the ‘Best of the Best’ after winning the daycare centre award in the Northern region, Millbrook Resource Centre impressed the judges in the final round of judging, beating stiff competition from other Trust area winners.

Millbrook Resource Centre was praised for its impeccable appearance, clean and tidy manner and innovative environmental initiatives, aimed at bringing service users and staff together to create a long-lasting and enjoyable place to visit and use.

Doreen Muskett, President of the Northern Ireland Amenity Council who host the awards, commented:

“We are delighted to partner with Belfast City Airport for the second year, promoting sustainability and good stewardship in the maintenance of our environment.

“The importance of a well-kept health and social facility simply cannot be overstated – buildings and grounds act as a first impression and an untidy atmosphere can lead to negative feelings, especially for those who live in the premises.

“Congratulations to our worthy winner, Millbrook Resource Centre, for their commitment and perseverance in making the centre outstanding. It is a testament to both your staff and residents.

“We know the standard of applications received from all of the Residential, Daycare and Healthcare facilities this year was extremely high, and the judges faced a difficult decision in choosing the overall winner.”

Although the Best Kept Health & Social Facility was introduced as a category in 1995, the Best Kept Awards have been in operation for over 60 years now. The Award has now been developed with regional winners in Residential, Daycare and Healthcare categories.

Peter McNaney CBE, Chairman of the Belfast Healthcare Trust, who hosted the awards and assisted in the presentation of prizes to the winners and runners up said:

“It is a pleasure to host the Best Kept Awards at Knockbracken Hall.

“Whilst the primary focus of any health trust is the care of our patients, it is also important to maintain a clean and tidy facility with innovative approaches to caring for our environment which we take great pride in at the Belfast Trust.

“We are delighted that these awards will recognise the excellent work being done to maintain health sites regionally.”

Stephen Patton, Corporate Responsibility and HR Manager at Belfast City Airport, added:

“On behalf of the Belfast City Airport, we want to commend Millbrook Resource Centre for the hard work and dedication that goes into winning a Best Kept Award.

“Belfast City Airport is proud to continue its partnership with the NIAC to encourage best practice and increase awareness of the importance of our environment.

“Ensuring the contribution that we make to our community is a positive one is central to the ethos of our corporate responsibility and the Best Kept Awards continue to encourage users to instill a sense of pride and volunteering on their own patch.”
