GBTA Africa Energy & Resources Travel Symposium’s programme launched

Inaugural GBTA Africa Event to Heavily Feature Duty of Care

South Africa, Johannesburg, 2013-05-15 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA)—the voice of the global business travel industry—today announced the launch of its GBTA Africa Energy & Resources Travel Symposium’s programme.

The event, a first for the region, will be held at the Cape Royale Hotel, in Cape Town on July 3-4, 2013.

GBTA launched the event as part of its increased investment in the region stating that they have been overwhelmed with interest from buyers and suppliers and are anticipating a sell out event.

Speaking about the programme, Jacky Maulgue, GBTA’s Director Operations – Africa, said, “The programme will cover four core topics vital  to  travel professionals  in the Energy & Resources sector to ensure they are provided with best practice tools and education.“

Ms Maulgue added, “According to a GBTA white paper, duty of care was the top of the travel management agenda for professionals in the region in these sectors. This programme will address duty of care and traveller tracking encompassing the entire booking process with case studies and panel discussions.”

Jason Krause, managing director at International SOS will be joining the lineup of speakers to discuss duty of care and the considerations that oil, gas and marine companies need to make when sending employees on assignments. GBTA Africa will also be launching and releasing a GBTA white paper for the oil, gas & marine industry. The paper aims to highlight aspects of duty of care that are relevant to the transient workforce and complex logistics processes with the crew movement in the oil, gas and marine sector.
