The award recognizes the importance of leadership and its role in inspiring and building a culture of excellence in an organisation, as well as reaching specific goals set within the ADEAP Program.

The award was presented at the ADEAP ceremony, held on Monday 18 November at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre, and followed Etihad Airways’ participation in the program throughout 2013.

James Hogan, Etihad Airways’ President and Chief Executive Officer, said: “Etihad Airways is immensely proud to receive this Abu Dhabi Excellence Award, one of the highest accolades an Abu Dhabi organisation can win.

“Etihad Airways continually strives for excellence in everything we do and this recognition illustrates the progress we have made, in just ten years of operation, towards fulfilling our aim to be the best airline in the world.”

The Etihad Airways award submission included details about the airline’s rigorous business monitoring, which includes monthly reviews across the organization with all levels of staff.

Also highlighted was staff communication on the direction and performance of the company, such as the quarterly staff roadshows.

In addition to winning the Excellence Entity in Leadership award, Etihad Airways was recognised in six further award categories as having met the ADEAP Program criteria.
