easyJet to open new direct service to Edinburgh

British airline easyJet has opened for ticket sales for its new direct service from Copenhagen to Edinburgh. The first flight out of Copenhagen will be on 21 March 2013.

2012-10-16 — /travelprnews.com/ — easyJet opens non-stop service number 11 out of Copenhagen next spring. As from March 2013, passengers out of Copenhagen Airport can fly easyJet to Edinburgh, Scotland.

Second-largest tourist destination in the UK

With its about 13 million visitors a year, Edinburgh is the second-largest tourist destination in the UK, only surpassed by London. The new service is therefore the obvious choice for both leisure and business travellers wanting to get from A to B fast,” said Thomas Haagensen, General Regional Manager, Northern Europe, for easyJet.

“One thing is that the new route will make Edinburgh more accessible from Denmark; another thing, and just as important, is that easyJet has such a strong brand in most parts of Europe, that their services always attract many tourists to Denmark. This is good news for tourism as well as for employment in Denmark in general,” said Ole Wieth Christensen, Director of Airline Sales & Route Development for Copenhagen Airport.

Four weekly frequencies

easyJet’s new service will have four weekly frequencies from Copenhagen to Edinburgh, on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays at 4:40 p.m. (arrival at 5:30 p.m.) and on Sundays at 9:50 p.m. (arrival 10:40 p.m.).

Flights from Edinburgh to Copenhagen will be on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays at 1:20 p.m. (arrival at 4:10 p.m.), and on Sundays at 6:30 p.m. (arrival at 9:20 p.m.).
