Deutsche Hospitality’s Anton M. Wüstefeld named “Best Iconic Employee” At the Worldwide Hospitality Awards

Frankfurt am Main, Germany, 2017-Nov-09 — /Travel PR News/ — At the Worldwide Hospitality Awards held in Paris on 8 November 2017, the winner of this year’s coveted “Best Iconic Employee” was Deutsche Hospitality’s very own Anton M. Wüstefeld, Pre-Opening General Manager of the IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Süd. The purpose of this particular annual prize is to recognise and honour members of staff whose exemplary careers have truly left a mark within their professional field.

Anton M. Wüstefeld is an employee who has always put his heart and soul into his work. This year, he celebrates 45 years with the company. Over this period of more than four decades, he has made a major contribution to the success that has been achieved by Steigenberger Hotels AG. After beginning his career as a page boy at the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof, Mr. Wüstefeld has now been managing his own hotel for many years.

He is involved in numerous social projects, is held in high esteem in Frankfurt and the surrounding area and is committed to improving conditions in the hotel industry and tourism branch via his membership of several associations. Anton M. Wüstefeld spent almost 20 years as General Manager of the IntercityHotel Frankfurt Airport, a real hotel hotspot located directly next to the runway. In September this year, he embraced a new challenge by taking charge of the pre-opening phase of the IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Süd, which will become the brand’s new flagship when it opens in 2019.

“We are proud of Mr. Wüstefeld and are delighted that this year’s ‘Best Iconic Employee’ is once again from Deutsche Hospitality,” said Thomas Willms, COO of Steigenberger Hotels AG. “Staff members such as him characterise the identity of our company. They act as role models by imbuing our sector with life. Mr. Wüstefeld sees his work as something which is dear to his heart rather than merely as a business.”

Deutsche Hospitality previously won a “Best Iconic Employee” Award in 2015, when Ömer Gezer, who has now been Head Barkeeper at Steigenberger’s Frankfurter Hof flagship for 45 years, was honoured for his exemplary work ethos.

The Worldwide Hospitality Awards are of key importance within the sector. They have been in existence for 18 years and are organised by the marketing research company MKG, a European provider of market studies for the hotel and restaurant branch. The competition is staged at an international level and gives hotels an opportunity to highlight outstanding performance by their staff and teams in the fields of communication, marketing, innovation, human resources, social and environmental responsibility and customer loyalty programmes.
