Deutsche Hospitality websites again earns TÜV SÜD s@fer-shopping certification

Steigenberger and IntercityHotel booking sites fulfil “s@fer shopping” criteria

Main, Germany, 2017-Jul-11 — /Travel PR News/ — The German Technical Inspection Agency TÜV SÜD has this year once again confirmed that booking hotel stays on the Deutsche Hospitality websites offers a particularly secure shopping experience. This means that the homepages of Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts (www.steigenberger.com) and IntercityHotel (www.intercityhotel.com) are officially deemed to be highly trustworthy and user friendly. In 2016, Deutsche Hospitality became the first hotel company to receive TÜV SÜD certification of its websites. Following this year’s recertification, it remains unique in this regard.

The TÜV SÜD subjected Deutsche Hospitality’s servers and websites to thorough scrutiny. It also looked closely at internal processes for the processing of online bookings in respect of data protection and user friendliness. Certification further included the service and payment options provided by the call centre.

“The Deutsche Hospitality websites have fulfilled the stringent TÜV SÜD s@fer-shopping certification criteria for the second year running,” stated Marc Seeliger from TÜV SÜD. “We have awarded this operator our s@fer-shopping seal of quality on the basis of the investigation we carried out. This involved a detailed consideration of the aspects of data security, data protection, user friendliness and processes and also included an audit at the company itself. The award shows users of the websites that the operator sets great store by ensuring compliance with these standards.”

Certification is based on a comprehensive catalogue of more than 100 individual criteria which guarantee a high degree of quality and security for online customers. Dr Jan Sammeck, Director E-Commerce at Deutsche Hospitality, says: “Fulfilling these requirements is the basis of our online service provision. We are continuing to use this as a foundation to develop our range of offers in a way that meets the requirements of our customers.”

Since last November, for example, guests have been able to both book rooms and make direct online payment. Users can also view and manage their own customer account.

Booking hotel stays on the Deutsche Hospitality websites is not only safe: As part of its Sustainability Programme “Deutsche Hospitality 1×1”, the hotel company makes a donation of one euro per online booking received for sustainable and social projects. Currently, the construction of water treatment plants in the Egyptian desert is being financed, a five-figure sum has already been made available.
