Peter Mikkelsen named Area Manager Berlin with immediate effect/Steffi Wisotzky in charge of the Steigenberger Airport Hotel in Berlin from 1 April 2020/Katrin Schissler takes charge at the IntercityHotel Hauptbahnhof Berlin
Frankfurt am Main, Germany, 2020-Mar-05 — /Travel PR News/ — New management structure in Berlin: Peter B. Mikkelsen has been appointed Area General Manager Berlin for Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts as of 1 March. This move means that Mr. Mikkelsen, who has just finished a successful stint as Managing Director of the Steigenberger Hotel Cologne, will be responsible in future for the Steigenberger Hotel Am Kanzleramt, the Steigenberger Hotel Berlin at Los Angeles Platz and the Steigenberger Airport Hotel in Berlin. He will also head up the Steigenberger Hotel Am Kanzleramt in the capacity of General Manager. Richard Engelmayer will continue as General Manager of the Steigenberger Hotel Berlin. Steffi Wisotzky will take up the reins at the Steigenberger Airport Hotel in Berlin, which is scheduled to open in October 2020. Her appointment becomes effective on 1 April 2020. The General Managers of the Steigenberger Hotels in Dresden, Leipzig and Jena will now all report to Denis Hüttig, Vice President Steigenberger Operations. Katrin Schissler is to become General Manager of the IntercityHotel Hauptbahnhof Berlin, also from 1 April 2020.

The IntercityHotel Berlin Hauptbahnhof will also be gaining an experienced leader in the person of Katrin Schissler. We would like to take this opportunity to offer our thanks to Gabriele Maessen, the outgoing Area Manager East for Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts.”
Ms. Maessen is leaving the Steigenberger Group at her own request after spending two years with the company. As Area General Manager, she was responsible for the Steigenberger Hotels in Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden, and Potsdam and for the Steigenberger Airport Hotel Berlin, which is set to open in the autumn. She also acted as General Manager of the Steigenberger Hotel Am Kanzleramt in Berlin. Gabriele Maessen is departing to seek new challenges outside Deutsche Hospitality.
Peter B. Mikkelsen began his career at the Steigenberger Graf Zeppelin in Stuttgart, where he trained in the occupation of hotel specialist. He then went on to complete a degree in Hotel Administration before gathering experience at business hotels operated by Sheraton, Hilton and Rezidor and securing the position of General Manager at the Radisson Blu in Warsaw. Mr. Mikkelsen has been General Manager of the Steigenberger Hotel Cologne since 2016.
Steffi Wisotzky has been with the hotel group for 20 years. Her most recent role was at the IntercityHotel Berlin Hauptbahnhof, which she helped to make one of the brand’s most successful performers. Prior to this, Ms. Wisotzky was responsible for the opening of the IntercityHotel Dresden, which she also managed between 2007 and 2012. She began her Steigenberger career at the Steigenberger Parkhotel Dresden-Radebeul. In 2013, Steffi Wisotzky won an MKG Group Hospitality Award in the category of Best General Manager.
Katrin Schissler took over as General Manager at the IntercityHotel Ulm in 2016 having previously served as Executive Director Commercial at IntercityHotel GmbH. In January 2019, she was appointed General Manager of the IntercityHotel Rostock.
